Saudi Arabia Is it necessary for foreigners to own a digital Iqama?

Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia have to have a residence, driving license or residency for their identity because they have to work for security personnel or government agencies at any place.

The need arises. Sometimes if you forget to keep iqama and driving license with you, you also face a big problem.

However, this problem has been resolved for the foreseeable future. The Saudi Passport Department (Licensing) has released a digital edition of Iqama (Hawiya Muqeem) which is available on the Ministry of Interior's e-app 'Abshrafrad' under the name 'Hawiya Muqeem Al-Ruqmiya'. The aim is to find out the illegal aliens as soon as possible and catch them and deport them from the country.

In this regard, digital residency facility has also been introduced by the Saudi Passport Department. This will allow the security personnel to know immediately whether the person is illegally residing or residing legally. Most foreigners want to know if digital residency is a must for foreigners. This is explained by the licenses.

Licensing spokesman Capt. Dr. Nasir al-Atabi said foreigners are not currently required to have a digital residence, it is optional. However, they must have a residence card. Foreigners wishing to acquire digital residency can download it via Abshar. If the security personnel along the way ask for identification or if there is a necessary work in an institution, it will be enough to show a residence card.

In this case, digital residency will not be required. However, the advantage of digital residency is that it can also be saved in the form of images in smartphones. In case of digital residency, you will not need to carry a plastic card or residency. You will be able to rely on digital identities when transacting with banks, companies and each other. Witnesses will not be required to bring their identities to any individual or institution or security agency. ” This feature can be used with and without internet.
