Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul Fattah Mushat has said that obtaining a permit has been made easier for Umrah pilgrims and those who offer congregational prayers in the Masjid al-Haram during the month of Ramadan. 

He was talking to the Saudi TV channel Al-Akhbariya outside the Haram Miki.


Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr Abdul Fattah Mushat further said that all precautionary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of Umrah pilgrims and those who come to Masjid-ul-Haram for congregational prayers. 

The Masjid al-Haram currently has a capacity of 50,000 Umrah pilgrims per day and 100,000 for congregational prayers, while Tawakalna and Etemarna are moving towards better options through the exchange of technical information through the app to reach more people. Facilities can be provided. 

The Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah further said that the process of obtaining Umrah permit has been made easier which is provided on daily and weekly basis. Those who come for Umrah and Masjid-ul-Haram for congregational prayers can now get a permit every 3 hours a day.

Anyone who has to come for Umrah or prayers has been provided the facility to get Umrah permit every three hours ie after 12 noon at 3 pm and 6 pm.

Keep in mind that keeping in view the principle of social distance due to the corona virus, it is necessary to obtain an Umrah permit to limit the number of Umrah pilgrims cannot enter Makkah without the permits. 

This facility is provided on the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's 'Etemarna' and the Ministry of Health's app 'Tawakalna' to get the Umrah permit The permit is issued free of charge. There is no fee. However, gathering points have been set up in Kadi and Shisha areas of Makkah where Umrah pilgrims can park their vehicles and reach Haram Sharif by bus. The bus fare has been fixed at 20 riyals per person which is bilateral. 

Bus fees can be paid online but those who do not have this facility can reach the station and get bus service from there.
