A 'Model Smart Bus Stand' under the Public Transport Project was inaugurated in Makkah. The event was presided over by Engineer Muhammad Abdullah Al-Qawihas.
Engineer Khalid Abdul Hafeez Fida, CEO of Makkah Transport and Railway Company was also present.
According to Web News 'Sabq', 445 smart bus stands will be constructed at different places of the city under the Mecca Public Transport Project.
The bus stands will be of state-of-the-art nature where the screens installed will show the routes, distances and times of the buses, the number of passengers in a bus as well as the condition of the bus and the facilities offered in the bus.

On the other hand, the CEO of Makkah Mukarramah Development Board, Eng. The bus service will be very useful not only for the people of Makkah but also for those coming from other cities and abroad.
Talking about the inauguration of Smart Bus Stand, the Director General of General Transport Project said, “The purpose of inauguration of the first model bus stand with state-of-the-art design and facilities is to test its quality and satisfy itself. The Model Bus Stand has all the features that were identified in the project.
The Makkah Mukarramah bus service will certainly be a great addition to the public transport sector, which will greatly benefit the common man, but also visitors from within and outside the country will benefit from this service.
It should be noted that Makkah General Transport Company has selected the fourth quarter of this year for the launch of the Makkah Bus Project. During this time, the routes of different areas of Makkah Mukarramah and the construction of stands will be completed.
